This sea son features eight ne w contestants battling eight returning ve terans. For th e first time, the winn er of this s eason will re ceive a p osition as an executi ve chef at Go rdon Ramsay Hel l&#3 9;s Kitchen Restauran t at Ca esars Palac e in Las Veg as, Nevada . This i s the first season since season 1 to not begin with men on the bl ue team an d women on the r ed team. It is also the third of the last fo ur seasons to feature a chef e liminated dur ing serv ice, t he first sea son since s eason 13 that no chef fro m the win ning team was elimina ted, and the first s eason s ince season 12 where two chefs qu it. This is also t he first sea son to have a chef quit before the fi nals. Ariel C ontreras-Fox, who p reviously f inished in third place on Seas on 6, won the competitio n; she is the second con secutive returnee, and sixt h consecuti ve woman to do so.
