From a c ritical perspe ctive, series creator Aaron Sorkin acknowle dged in Oc tober 200 2 that the terr orism-r elated plots designed to keep t he series relev ant after t he real-life 9/11 attacks were awkw ard at times, say ing &qu ot;from week to wee k, you fe lt like you were writin g the sho w handcuffed , a little b it.
