As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the contesta nts are dropped off in a remot e locat ion as pa irs. Seven pa irs of family me mbers trave l to a rugged region of Briti sh Columbia, w here the y are s eparated and dro pped off m iles apa rt from each other. Eac h player mu st navigate the wildernes s to loca te his or her partner . Once re united, the loved ones have to create t heir own shelters an d forage f or their food whil e overcoming r ough weather conditions an d deadly pred ators. They have nothing more than t he conten ts of their small back packs and 10 tools spli t between th em to he lp with t heir survival. They also hav e enough camera ge ar to record t heir exp eriences because -- as in t he past - - there is no camera cr ew.
