This is an interesti ng yet bizar re little tale of a ficti onal (as f ar as I know, anyway) e xperiment performe d during the S talin-c ontrolled y ears in the USSR. The main ch aracter i s changed from a woman into a man. This is part of a larger pla n to cha nge more wom en into men an d have a stron ger wor k-force/army, etc. It& amp;#39;s a v ery in- depth charact er study of the ma in character, who tries to fit into a world tha t she (now &am p;#39;he ') d oesn& ;#39;t really u ndersta nd, especially since she& #39;s now a man ... Stal in disl ikes the results of the experim ents and has t he scient ist killed. The main character t hen goes off to live a l ife as a simple , unknown eve ryday Soviet , but is ine xplicably draw n into larger a nd larger schemes (somewhat remin iscent of &am p;quot;Forrest Gump&am p;quot; in that way) . (s)He has ru n-ins w ith differe nt important characters, i ncluding his ex-boyfriend fr om his days of being a wo man, as w ell as going on a dement ed quest for the nurse with whom h e possi bly fel l in lo ve after the op eration... How ever, he is trapp ed in his li fe as an import ant Soviet marr ied man, and in the end makes a huge sacrifice for his country (unwil lingly), a nd the movie go es from ther e to an e nding th at is poss ibly happy, ye t still somehow incred ibly depressin g.詳情
