In this season, the show went back to airing one new episode a week, but stayed in the hour-length format, filling up the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half of season 6, is available on Garfield and Friends: Volume 5 DVD se t. Also wo rth noting is that here , a new theme song was added th at was writ ten by J.R. Johnston and Neil Pant on. The theme was s ung by J.R . Johns ton. Th is theme song was n ot shown in ternationally, and as a resu lt, it does no t appear on the DVDs (although G arfield 's q uotations are kept intac t). This new introd uction se quence used most clips fr om Seaso ns 5-7 and a few from the firs t two seasons, as well a s Garfi eld in Paradi se and Garf ield's Feline Fantasi es. The epi sodes stoppe d using a f ew seconds of t he theme playing in th e episode title cards af ter sea son sev en's fourth e pisode; mus ic from th e episodes were used in the title cards until t he show ended , even t hough s eason six used music f rom some of th eir episode s.詳情
