As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the conte stants ar e dropp ed off i n a remote location a s pairs. S even pair s of family mem bers travel to a rug ged region of British Columbia, wh ere they ar e separa ted and droppe d off mi les apart from each other. Each player must navigate t he wilderne ss to loc ate his or her par tner. Once reu nited, the loved ones have to create their own she lters and f orage f or their foo d while overcoming rough weathe r conditi ons and deadly predators. They have not hing more t han the c ontents of thei r small backpack s and 10 tools split betwee n them t o help with th eir survival . They also have enough camera ge ar to record their exper iences because -- as in the past -- t here is no cam era crew.
