As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the contes tants ar e dropp ed off in a remote location as pairs. Seven pairs of family memb ers trave l to a rugged region of Bri tish Co lumbia, where t hey are separ ated and dro pped off m iles apa rt from each other. Each pla yer mus t navig ate the wi lderness to locate his or her partn er. Once reunit ed, the loved ones have to create their o wn shelter s and forage f or their fo od while overcom ing rough wea ther conditio ns and deadly pre dators. Th ey have nothing more than the cont ents of their small backpacks an d 10 tools spli t between t hem to help wi th thei r survival.
