As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the cont estants a re dropped o ff in a remote location as pairs. Seven pai rs of fam ily member s travel to a rugg ed region of Bri tish Colum bia, where they are separa ted and d ropped off miles apa rt from ea ch other. Each pl ayer must navigate the wilderness to locate h is or her partn er. Once reunit ed, the loved ones have to create the ir own shelt ers and forage for their food while overcom ing rough weather co nditions and deadly pr edators. T hey have nothin g more than the contents o f their small backpacks and 10 to ols spli t between th em to help with their surv ival. Th ey also ha ve enou gh came ra gear to re cord their expe riences because -- as in t he past -- ther e is no camera crew.
