As "Alone" enters its fourth season, the competition series shakes things up with a new twist: the contestan ts are droppe d off in a remote location as pairs. Seven pairs of f amily members travel to a r ugged region of British Col umbia, where they are se parated and droppe d off mil es apart fro m each o ther. Each pl ayer mus t navigate the wildernes s to loca te his or her partner. O nce reunited , the loved o nes have to c reate t heir own shelt ers and forage for thei r food whi le over coming rough we ather condition s and dea dly predators. They ha ve nothing more than th e contents of their small backpacks and 10 tool s split betwee n them to help with the ir survival. Th ey also have eno ugh camera gear t o record th eir experien ces becau se -- as in the past -- there is no camera crew.
