Series 7 of D octor Who i s expected to a ir on BBC One through out 2012 and 2013.[1] The BBC announce d the n ews of the new series, which will contain fourteen episodes, on the offic ial Doctor Wh o site on 8 Ju ne 2011.[2] Series 7 will begin its run in the Aut umn of 20 12 with five r egular sta nd-alone e pisodes and a Christm as Special. It will then be followed by the rem aining eight episode s in 201 3. [3] It has been annou nced that t he Eleventh Do ctor, played b y Matt Smith will return for the f ull ser ies.[4] Kare n Gilla n, who plays Amy Pond, w ill return for the series , as wil l Arthur Darvill as A my' s husband Ro ry Williams.[5 ][6] This serie s will see th e departure of both Amy a nd Rory after an encounter with the Weep ing Ange ls in episode five.
