Series 7 of Doctor Who is expected to air on BB C One t hroughou t 2012 an d 2013.[1] Th e BBC announce d the ne ws of the new series, whi ch will cont ain four teen ep isodes, on the offic ial Doctor Who site on 8 Ju ne 2011.[2] Series 7 will begin it s run in th e Autumn of 2 012 with fiv e regular s tand-alone episodes a nd a Christmas Special. I t will then be followed by the rema ining eight ep isodes in 2013. [3] It has been announced that the Ele venth Doct or, play ed by Ma tt Smith wil l return for the full series .[4] Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Po nd, will r eturn for th e series , as will Ar thur Dar vill as Am y&#39 ;s husband Rory William s.[5][6] This series w ill see the dep arture o f both Am y and Rory a fter an encoun ter with th e Weepin g Angel s in epis ode five.
