Series 7 of Doct or Who i s expected to air on BBC One througho ut 2012 and 201 3.[1] The BBC announced the news of the new series, which will contain fourtee n episode s, on the offi cial Doctor Who site on 8 June 2011.[2] S eries 7 will begin its run in the Autumn o f 2012 with five regul ar stand-a lone episode s and a Chr istmas Specia l. It will th en be fol lowed by the remaining eight epi sodes i n 2013. [3] It has been a nnounced t hat the Elevent h Doctor, played by Mat t Smith will retur n for t he full series.
